And we have more room to grow, so we can avoid a mega desk situation. Now we have a dual ping pong and pool table combination for ultimate dueling. The conference room includes a massive whiteboard. Our new Apple TVs allow us at any time to throw ideas up for the group to see or to easily steal the music that’s playing from someone else. Jän built a gorgeous device wall that we’re steadily filling up with gadgets so we can view a webpage on every device at once for cross-testing. Our new rooftop lets Rob grill while overlooking the Dragon’s stadium. Not only does the name appeal to all of the Joss Whedon fans on the team, but the office and building are amazing. Never ones to back down from a challenge, though, we kept a positive attitude through it all.Īnd we’ve been handsomely rewarded with our new space in Dayton’s Firefly Building. At some point, it felt as though they had mated and multiplied. Add in new, awesome tools and toys, and there were a lot of boxes.
We searched for years and finally found a place that seemed like it could be our new home.īefore we could get working here, there was a lot to sort through, pack, and move. Those unique features that had become so us were what made it so hard to find a suitable replacement when we comically outgrew the space (having started as a small, but mighty, team of seven and blossomed to 18). From a huge kitchen that allowed us to cook delicious, family-style meals together to the rooftop where we grew and grilled some of that food-it was special. It was part of the heart and spirit that have made us great.

Girl Develop It is a 503(c) organization directed at giving women a safe, judgement free space to learn code.Our old office was truly special. They host “Code and Coffee” events roughly once a month, a number of classes that span one to five weeks, and informational panels addressing tech topics given by women in the local tech community. The Dayton Web Developers group is the longest running Dayton, Ohio Meetup group focused on the craft of Web Development. ĭayton Clean Coders is a monthly meetup of developers who have a desire to share, practice and contribute to clean code. Gem City JS is a meetup of web developers who share a desire to share and learn more about JavaScript.

Each month we welcome an amazing speaker who shares their story with our community and tells us what worked, what didn't, and what they'll do differently next time. It's an amazing opportunity to learn from the best, network with other members of the startup community, and improve your chances of entrepreneurial success. We are group of programmers, students, and technology enthusiasts who are excited about the Ruby programming language and the Ruby on Rails web framework. We meet on the fourth Tuesday of every month to contribute to open source, work on personal projects, and present topics related to Ruby. The UX Dayton Meetup is for anyone who is interested in improving technology for the people who use it.
